Academics
Learn about our academic tenets and what we teach our students here at CMCA.
Overview
Our goal is to provide the highest quality education possible as good stewards of our opportunity to invest in students. In addition to using the best educational practices, the following qualities describe a CMCA education. We teach:
Relationally
We value in-person instruction, modeling, and personal interactions between classmates and teachers.
Kindly
We serve students and believe they learn best when treated the way we would want to be treated.
With Rigor
We value diligent, hard work that grows the mind and skills of every student.
Joyfully
Our classrooms are filled with a steady joy—we get to grow, learn, and serve with others!
Collaboratively
Our focus is on teamwork, community building, and working with, not against.
Actively
We get our hands dirty. We make. We serve. We produce. We use our knowledge and skills. Learning isn’t complete until it is used.
Relevantly
We connect learning to our lives. Teachers frame their lessons to provide connections and context.

Curriculum
Kindergarden
Our kindergarten curriculum emphasizes a student’s intellectual, character, and skills development. Your child will be introduced to letters and their sounds as well as the beginning steps in reading. They will also be taught basic math, phonics, science, social studies, Bible, music, and art. Our classes incorporate manipulatives and hands-on activities to engage students and promote understanding of new concepts. We prioritize a kindergartener’s development of fine motor skills through creative play, listening skills and language development through read-aloud books, and social skills through class activities.
Grades 1-6
Students in grades 1-6 will be taught foundational skills in reading, math, and English preparing them for success in high school and beyond. We also teach classes in Bible, history, science, music, and art. Throughout the subjects, we nurture a student’s desire to learn and grow through multi-sensory learning, hands-on projects, stories from “living” books, and encounters with our community through field trips and service learning. CMCA seeks to develop a culture that promotes excellence in academic skills as well as developing Christ-like character and a community among its students.
